How do I submit downloadable non-image files as deviations?
DeviantArt allows a variety of file types to be submitted as deviations. Some non-image file types, while they are acceptable as deviation files, will require a preview image to also be uploaded. To add a preview image to a non-image file:
- Upload your file to the submit page or Studio.
- In the submit/edit window, you will see an “Add Preview” button. Click on that button to upload a .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF file from your computer. This file will serve as the preview image and thumbnail for your deviation.
Please note that when you upload a non-image file, the “Allow free download of source file” option under Advanced settings will be enabled by default. If you want to offer it for sale instead, learn how to sell Premium Downloads.
