How do I report content?
DeviantArt strives to be a community accepting of a wide range of creative works and themes. Even in our open and accepting creative environment, there are certain themes and types of content which are not allowed to be posted.
The Moderation System
Members of DeviantArt can help us address problem content by filing a moderation report.
To report a deviation, an item posted to Sta.sh, journal, or status update:
- Click the “...” button found immediately below the deviation.
- Click "Report."
- Choose the option that best applies to begin filing your report.

Content ranging from explicit sexual material, abusive posts, and spam advertising can be reported to our staff this way.
Tip: Clicking the Report button on DeviantArt's Mobile App will open a modified Reporting module in your mobile browser. For the full list of options, please report via desktop.
Information about reporting
Complaints about deviations should not be sent as a ticket to the DeviantArt customer service area. Our moderation system is specifically designed to review and address problem content in the most efficient manner possible.
The one exception to this procedure concerns photographic submissions where you are featured as a subject but you have not previously authorized the publication of the photograph. Please see the Model Release help center article for more information on how to report.
With the exception of copyright infringement (DMCA) takedown notices, as related to our Copyright Policy, your report will be kept completely anonymous. Only members of our staff will have access to the full details of your report and the person that you report will not receive your name or any information which could be used to identify you.
To report a comment, poll, profile, forum thread, or group:
- Visit the Contact Us page
- Select “Policies”
- Choose the option that best applies to begin filing your report.
Due to the volume and complexity of reports, combined with a prioritization system, we cannot provide any estimate regarding how long your report may wait before it is reviewed.
