What if I'm having trouble verifying my account?

A number of potential issues may be preventing you from verifying your account, and each has a different solution. Here are some common issues and solutions that may resolve your problem.

If you haven’t received a verification email:

Sometimes verification emails may be blocked or filtered into a spam folder. If you have not received a verification email from noreply@deviantart.com, try these steps to resolve the issue.

  • Use your email provider’s search to find any emails from noreply@deviantart.com to make sure it didn’t end up somewhere different than expected, particularly the spam folder.
  • If your email provider has a spam or bulk mail setting, either lower its filter setting or whitelist noreply@deviantart.com. Once you do so, request a new verification email from the Profile dropdown menu.
  • If you’ve tried the above steps, or your email provider doesn’t have a spam or bulk mail setting you can change, when you log in to your DeviantArt account, you will be prompted to verify your email address. Enter a new email address from a different provider to get a new verification email.

If you previously verified your email address but are being asked to verify again:

Sometimes verification issues may occur due to inaccurate computer configuration, usually related to the date and time being set incorrectly. Make sure your computer’s date and time are set correctly, and then try again. You may also want to request a new verification email after doing so, as an additional measure.

If you’ve tried the above solutions and the problem persists, try verifying on another computer or network.

If you’re returning to DeviantArt after a long period of inactivity:

You may have to re-verify your account based on the amount of time since you last logged in. View the General section of the Account Settings page to see if you need to verify again. If your email address is obscured with asterisks, you won’t be able to change the email address on file yourself.
