What are some ways I can keep myself safe from phishing attempts?

Every deviant can benefit from following easy tips to stay safe online and keep your account and personal information safe and private.

Here are some to keep in mind:
  • Always check that the username in any on-site communication (including notes, chat, comments, or more) has the DeviantArt Staff user symbol (see example note below), if the message is originating from DeviantArt staff. Read more in our Knowledge Base article.

  • Our About Page contains a current list of staff, which you can use as a reference when a sender claims they're a staff member.
  • DeviantArt staff will never ask for banking or credit card information in a note.
  • Always use caution when being asked to click outside links. Staff will never ask a deviant to go to a third-party platform for account support.
  • If a scammer has contacted you through a third-party site, report the scammer to that platform and report the profile on DeviantArt.
  • Staff will never ask users to change their personal information or pay money to prove their account's good standing.
  • All DeviantArt support interactions take place on the Contact Us page of DeviantArt.com or through our help center at deviantartsupport.com.
