What is the difference between platform, processing, and payout fees?

As a creator on DeviantArt, it's important to understand the fees associated with selling on DeviantArt and what they are. Here's a quick guide to help you figure it out.

Platform Fees

DeviantArt’s platform fees are applied to sellers, and are deducted when a sale is made (including on buyer tips at checkout). The earnings that appear on the Earnings page will reflect this deduction. Depending on the Core Membership you have, your platform fees will vary:

Processing Fees

An update to processing fees
We're standardizing how processing fees work to ensure a consistent earning structure across the platform. While the processing fee of $0.30 + 3.5% is currently not applied for transactions made with Points, starting May 26, this fee will apply to all transactions, including Points transactions. All other platform fees remain unchanged.
Transactions involving a third-party payment processor (such as credit cards, PayPal, or digital wallets) incur a processing fee of $0.30 + 3.5% of the transaction total. This fee covers charges by third parties to process transactions.

Transactions using DeviantArt Points do not have processing fees. Learn what payment methods DeviantArt supports.

Payout Fees

Payout fees apply to earnings withdrawals made through PayPal, Stripe, and BitPay, and may vary depending on provider used, currency, and country. This fee is deducted when you withdraw your earnings. Learn more about payout fees.
