What is the difference between platform, processing, and payout fees?
As a creator on DeviantArt, it's important to understand the fees associated with selling on DeviantArt and what they are. Here's a quick guide to help you figure it out.
Platform Fees
DeviantArt’s platform fees are applied to sellers, and are deducted when a sale is made. The earnings that appear on the Earnings page will reflect this deduction. Depending on the Core Membership you have, your platform fees will vary:
Product | Non-Core | Core and Core+ | Core Pro | Core Pro+ |
---|---|---|---|---|
Premium Downloads | 20% | 12% | 5% | 2.5% |
Premium Galleries | 20% | 12% | 5% | 2.5% |
Subscriptions | 20% | 12% | 5% | 2.5% |
Exclusives | 20% | 15% | 10% | 5% |
Commissions | 20% | 0% | 0% | 0% |
Processing Fees
Transactions involving a third-party payment processor (such as credit cards, PayPal, or digital wallets) incur a processing fee of $0.30 + 3.5% of the transaction total. This fee covers charges by third parties to process transactions.

Payout Fees
Payout fees apply to earnings withdrawals made through PayPal, Stripe, and BitPay, and may vary depending on provider used, currency, and country. This fee is deducted when you withdraw your earnings. Learn more about payout fees.
