What is a buying ban?
DeviantArt gives you the tools to sell your creative content or to buy content of other members, with features ranging from commissions, prints purchases, and Premium downloads.
All members who take advantage of these abilities and tools should do so in good faith, with honesty and fairness, and all transactions, activity, and content will abide by all relevant DeviantArt policies.
If our staff becomes aware of a member acting in bad faith, that member can have their privilege to sell or buy products through DeviantArt revoked in the form of a general buying ban on their DeviantArt account. Members found to be deliberately engaging in bad faith transactions or fraudulent activity may have their DeviantArt profile suspended or terminated.
A buying ban removes the ability for the affected profile to make use of DeviantArt Points, will block the ability of that account to engage in offering or buying any product or artist services and will prevent the withdrawal of any earnings associated with your profile for the duration of the shop ban.
DeviantArt employs fraud detection systems which monitor attempted purchases, and it is possible that, through no fault of your own, your attempted transaction may be flagged by these systems as a high risk for fraud. This can result in a buying ban being placed on your DeviantArt profile as a security measure.
This is not a confirmation or accusation of fraud, but a security measure based on the evaluation of several factors that may be out of your control and which are not a direct reflection of your own actions.
In the event that you have reason to believe that a buying ban placed on your profile is the result of a high-risk flag being placed on your account by our fraud detection systems, please contact our customer support.
