What is Seniority?
Seniority is an award given to outstanding deviants who have made their mark on the community through their level of interaction, helpfulness with others, kindness, sincerity, and many other notable traits. These deviants can be recognized by the medal icon that appears next to their username.
What makes a senior member?
There is no one singular way to make a positive impact on the community to merit Seniority, but some common factors are taken into consideration. Potential recipients should be:
- A member of DeviantArt for a minimum of three years
- Consistently active in the community for a minimum of two years before being nominated
- A positive contributor to their respective sub-community and/or the greater DeviantArt community
- Active beyond commenting on their own deviations and posts
- Constructive when providing site feedback, positive or negative
Seniority is not a legacy status. If a senior member behaves in ways that go against the tenets of Seniority, they may have their status removed at the discretion of the DeviantArt team.
How often is Seniority granted?
Five community members will be selected on a quarterly basis to receive Seniority, in January, April, July, and October. Additional Seniority announcements may occur in the case of special occasions.
Can I nominate a deviant who I think deserves Seniority?
Yes, you can do so by filling out this form.
Please note: The number of times a deviant is suggested does not impact their chances of receiving Seniority. All nominations, regardless of frequency, will be reviewed and held to the same standards.
