What is Merch?

Merch is DeviantArt’s way for creators to sell their art printed on physical products. The first available product is T-shirts, with more coming later.

With Merch, the seller doesn’t need to handle production, inventory, or delivery, as it's handled fully by DeviantArt's fulfillment partners.

Who can sell Merch?

Anyone with Core+ Membership or higher.

How do I start selling Merch?

You can either convert existing deviations into Merch or choose to sell a deviation as Merch when uploading it.

To convert existing deviations into Merch listings:
  1. Go to Studio > Published
  2. Select deviations and choose to sell them as Merch
  3. Pick the placement of your art on a T-shirt and set your markup
  4. Click List for Sale

For an individual deviation, you can also click Sell Deviation on its page.

When submitting a new deviation, you can sell it as Merch right as you upload:
  1. Click Submit > Deviation and upload an image
  2. Scroll down to the Sell as Merch toggle switch and enable it
  3. Make sure to use high-quality images to keep your prints looking sharp and detailed
  4. Choose the placement
  5. Enter your markup, which is an amount added to the production cost that determines how much you earn
  6. Click Submit

Note: Deviations that have been sold as Exclusives cannot be converted into Merch.
How do buyers order Merch?
Buyers choose their size and color, then complete the purchase all on DeviantArt.
After checkout, they get an order confirmation email, and then another email with tracking information once the order ships.
How are orders fulfilled?
Merch is a print-on-demand service, which means each product is made after it's ordered. Sellers do not manage printing, stocking, packing, or shipping.
Because Merch products are made to order, delivery may take longer than it would for a ready-made item.
