How do I enable or disable push notifications?

Whether you want to stay on top of every message and comment or prefer a less-distracting browsing experience, here's how to manage push notifications on DeviantArt.
To enable push notifications on your desktop browser or in the DeviantArt web app:
  • Open the web app or your desktop browser
  • Click on your profile avatar
  • From the dropdown, select "Push Notifications"
  • Toggle on "Enable Notifications"
Your browser will prompt you to allow notifications if you haven't already allowed it.
To disable notifications:
  • Open the web app or your desktop browser
  • Click on your profile avatar
  • From the dropdown, select "Push Notifications"
  • Toggle off "Enable Notifications"
To manage Messages sounds:
  • Go to Messages or click the Messages icon from the main navigation menu
  • Click the "..." button
  • Toggle "Disable notification sounds" on or off


Not getting notifications? Try these troubleshooting tips:

Desktop
Check to verify your browser has not blocked notifications: Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge
Verify that your computer has not disabled notifications. 
  • On PC, this is under System > Notifications. 
  • On Mac, it's under System Settings.
Verify that you haven't enabled "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" mode on your Mac/PC, which temporarily disables push notifications.
Once you’ve made changes, sometimes restarting your browser can help.

Web App (iOS)
Verify that the DeviantArt Web App has Notifications permissions by going to Settings > Notifications > DeviantArt.

Web App (Android)
Verify that the DeviantArt Web App has Notifications permissions by going to Settings > Notifications > App notifications > DeviantArt. (Note: Exact steps may vary slightly depending on Android device/version)
