How do I show, hide, or edit my birthday?

Show or Hide Your Birthday

You can change whether or not your birthday is displayed on your Profile from the Account Settings page. To do so:

  • Hover over your avatar in the site navigation bar (or tap, if on a mobile device) and select Settings from the menu that appears.
  • In the left column of the Account Settings page, click General.
  • In the Personal Information section, click the drop menu next to “Birthday Display” and choose your preferred setting, then click save.

Your privacy options for the birthday display are as follows:

  • Don’t show my birthday publicly
  • Show only month and day publicly
  • Show my full birthday and age publicly

Be cautious when displaying your personal information, particularly if you are under the age of 21.

Edit Your Birthday

If you entered the wrong birthday when you created your DeviantArt account, you can update it from the Account Settings page as well. To do so:

  • Hover over your avatar in the site navigation bar (or tap, if on a mobile device) and select Settings from the menu that appears.
  • In the left column of the Account Settings page, click General.
  • In the Personal Information section, click “Change birthday.”
  • Enter your correct birthday, and click save.

Ensure you’ve entered the correct date before saving the change, as you may not be able to change it again in the future. Changes made to your birthday setting will also affect your mature content settings, as well as the date displayed on your Profile (though it will not change your show/hide setting).
