How do I edit or delete a journal?

After posting a journal, there's always the option to make edits or delete a post. If you want to edit a journal, you can do it in one of two ways.

To edit a journal from your profile or Posts tab:

  • Hover over the thumbnail of the journal you want to edit.
  • Click the "..." to pull up a menu.
  • Click "Edit" and make any changes you want.
  • Click “Update” to save your changes.

When viewing the journal you want to edit:

  • Click the edit pencil icon.
  • Make any edits you want.
  • Click "Update" to save your changes.

Deleting a journal:

To delete a journal entry, simply click the trash icon on the journal thumb or while editing. Be sure to click "Delete" to finalize.

Editing Legacy Journals

As DeviantArt's editor features advance, legacy journals sometimes have to be converted to the new format before edits can begin. Every precaution is taken to ensure a flawless conversion, however, sometimes the rare formatting difference can be found. It's easy to re-edit after conversion! 

  • Most rich-text formatting will convert, but make a note of any unique options you may want to double-check when you edit. 
  • Click the pencil icon to edit. 
  • You'll see a pop-up confirming you want to convert the journal deviation. 
  • Click Convert to edit your work.
