How can I customize my browsing preferences?

You can change a number of browsing settings from the Account Settings page at any time. To do so:

  • Hover over your avatar in the site navigation bar (or tap, if on a mobile device) and select Settings from the menu that appears.
  • In the left column of the Account Settings page, click Browsing.

Once there, you will see four sections that have a number of different settings that can be changed.

General Browsing

  • The Theatre view setting changes how artwork displays when you first open a deviation page.

If you select Zoomed In, the page will display the largest viewable image size, and if you select Zoomed Out, the image will be scaled down to fit within your browser window.

  • The Invisible browsing setting determines whether or not you appear online for other deviants.

  • The Display and Paging settings determine the amount of deviation thumbnails that will load when browsing pages with multiple deviations, and how those thumbnails are loaded.

If you select “Scroll through pages” for your Paging setting, more deviations will automatically load as you scroll down.

If you select “Click through pages” for your setting, you’ll manually click “Next Page” and “Previous Page” buttons to load more deviations.

Browsing Mode

The browsing mode setting will alter the amount of sensitive content you may or may not encounter while browsing DeviantArt.

AI Content

This setting lets you toggle between showing or suppressing AI art on Browse and Search.

Muted Tags

You can mute tags by adding them to the box in this section, and deviations with these tags will no longer appear when using Browse or Search.

Notes

These settings change how Notes display and how many notes you see per page in your inbox.
