Can I advertise on DeviantArt?
Some members actively engage in the sale of their creative works, from digital commissions to printed content to hand-crafted artisan creations. The DeviantArt community features members offering all manner of goods and services!
All individual artists and creative craftsmen may freely advertise their goods and services through their DeviantArt account in any reasonable fashion. To do so is not considered to be a violation of the restriction within the DeviantArt Terms of Service prohibiting commercial activities through a DeviantArt account. Those acting as individuals or as a part of small partnerships or businesses engaged in art-related activities or who are seeking to retain the services of creative people should not automatically be considered to be in violation of any rule and do not need to be brought to the attention of the administration.
DeviantArt encourages all members to use discretion and sound judgement when entering into any arrangement, agreement, or transaction with another member as payment for and delivery of goods and/or services. Any terms related to the commercial activities—including conditions, warranties, or representations and so forth—are solely between you and the other member. DeviantArt and the DeviantArt Customer Service team will not be available to moderate disputes or to assist in the resolution of any disagreement, conflict, or problem which may arise. Deliberately fraudulent activity, which is prohibited on DeviantArt, should be brought to the attention of the administration for review.
Commercial Spam
Commercial activities which are considered to be an unacceptable activity would consist of the posting of paid advertising (“spam”) or the posting of paid search engine optimization (SEO) activities through a DeviantArt profile. Commercial activities in the form of paid advertising or SEO activity are subject to the terms and conditions relating to the purchase of such advertising. No other commercial activities are permitted without DeviantArt's prior written approval, and profiles found to be engaged in such activity can be subject to termination.

Games of Chance
In addition to the prohibition of commercial activities, DeviantArt also prohibits games of chance, such as raffles, lotteries, and other random giveaways or contests, which require a payment of some form of real or digital currency (such as DeviantArt Points) to participate.
Our principal concerns regarding privately operated games of chance are to avoid the exploitation of members of DeviantArt, to prevent unfair treatment of deviants who are solicited and pay to participate and avoid the appearance of impropriety from offers which are open to abuse as well as acknowledging the various and varying laws restricting or regulating the conduct of games of chance in differing parts of the world.
We encourage gift-giving; we encourage trading Points for art or art services; we encourage the solicitation of Points as donations; and we encourage Points used as prizes in contests of skill—all of these when conducted fairly and truthfully.
Paid games of chance, however, solicit with a promise of potential reward, and DeviantArt has no adequate means to confirm that the privately conducted “game” is conducted fairly or within the requirements of any applicable law. Because of these concerns, we must prohibit the operation of any paid game of chance through your DeviantArt account.

Creating accounts to advertise for free or to attempt to perform search engine optimization strategies on DeviantArt is prohibited. Anyone attempting to do so will find their accounts closed and their websites potentially blacklisted.
